An increasing number of members of the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) are involved with the offshore renewables sector and for this reason the association has published ‘Guidance for the Positioning of Dynamically Positioned (DP) Jack-up Vessels on and off the Seabed” (IMCA M223) and an updated version of their information note ‘Inspection and Auditing of Manned and Unmanned Barges’. Both are aimed at ensuring and enhancing offshore safety.
Competence and training are core activities for the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA). It provides guidance on competence assurance and assessment, training, and information on recruitment and careers in offshore, marine and underwater engineering to companies around the globe..
Now in its fifth year, IDPOA is once again supporting the European Dynamic Positioning Conference in London. The first event, which coincided with the launch of IDPOA, was established in response to demand for a dedicated international event focusing on DP in the offshore market and other sectors.
Shipowners, construction yards, designers and system integrators were celebrating at the offshore vessel industry’s top awards. The biggest events in the offshore vessel calendar was held during two days of excellent presentations, lively debates and outstanding networking at Riviera Maritime Media’s Annual Offshore Support Journal (OSJ) Conference and Awards in London.
A distinguished delegation led by Norwegian Maritime Directorate Shipping and Navigation Director General of Mr. Olav Akselsen and Det Norske Veritas (“DNV”) Vice President Mr. Trond Hodne visited China Rongsheng Heavy Industries recently to tie up some significant new agreements.
